Other Home

Well, now I'm back from two weeks in Lafayette. It felt kinda like I was in this really long dream where I lived at my parents' house again and so did Kelley. We each lived in our respective rooms and Kelley's husband was there too. I missed Nathan a lot but In this dream it was just like life before Kelley went to college, except that everything that happened between then and now did in fact happen. So his not being there wasn't that strange, nor was his being there. I told you, kinda like a dream. I'm glad I babysitted for Aynsley, It really gave her boys and me a chance to really get to know each other. Now when I go over there I won't feel like I'm re-introducing myself to people who have forgotten me. And Brodi is so smart and responsible. When he isn't being a defiant little three year old (like he's supposed to be at three) he's like my little hero. Oh, and Ayla BITES. I still have colorful bruises from where she cheerfully needed to feed upon human flesh. Ashton is just a cute little boy who's mostly happy except when he remembers that there is food he's not eating. It was exhausting! They reall weren't that bad cosidering that they are three, two, and almost one year old. But geez, that in no way makes them NOT three, two, and almost one year old. They just run you in circles all day long. Thank the Lord Almighty for naps! I seriously don't know what I would have done if one or two didn't periodically just fall over in exhaustion every now and then. (Never all three at once. I think they agreed on that beforehand. Ayla worked long and hard on her part of the bargain on the last day. Have you ever seen a baby screeam for an hour at the top of her lungs out of sheer exhaustion? She fell asleep periodically for a few seconds, woke up, then continued to scream!)

Yesterday Nathan, Kelley, Chris, Adam and I went to see Batman begins. It was really fun. The movie wasn't perfect, but it was far better than a few other renditions of Batman. Then later Nathan Adam andI went to see Mr. and Mrs. Smith. That was also great. It was downright cute. I would be willing to see either agin if people are looking for someone to seen them with.

Now I'm back at home and I need a job and for life to normal out again.

I saw this on the news..and told Lil Sister about it. Apparently, at the premiere of Batman Begins Christian Bale was there, but the press totally ignored him because Katie Holmes brought Tom Cruise as her date.

Poor Christian! Sis and I have agreed that he's the only reason either of us would see that movie.
