Things, lots of them
Well. There have been a lot of things that I've been wanting to post about very recently and I have a lot to make up for, so here goes.
About a week ago, Nathan and I went to Chuck wagon for lunch. We try to have lunch together every day because during the week, lunch is about the only time we see each other. But we have whole weekends together, so that's cool. Anyway, Chuck Wagon is this goofy little western themed place that has this toy train runnung around the ceiling. Just under the train there are numbers that correspond to each of the seats in the restaurant. If the engine stops on one of those numbers and a person happens to be sitting in that seat, they get their meal for free. It's cute. Anyway, the train stopped on my number and my meal was free, so that was cool. Then Nathan has been dangeling this surprize he's gotten for me over my head for some time now. He decidied to tell me what it was because it still hasn't shipped yet. He got me a new French Horn mouthpiece! He didn't know this, but the last time I got a new French Horn mouthpiece I sat and stared at it's shiny little splendor for half hour intervals. Now that mouthpiece has all kinds of scapes and scars from dropping it on asphalt during parades and stuff. Hence the need for a new mouthpiece. It still hasn't come in, but I'm still stoked. Then when I got home from work I decided to go to Kent's house. I grabbed my purse, walked outside, and promptly locked myself out. I couldn't drive anywhere for the same reason I couldn't go back inside, so I walked to the Church Street Inn in hopes that Matt would be there. On the way I realized there was the tiniest chance I'd see John Goodman, because he ws filming a movie in Natchitoches, He was checked into the hotel, and all the movie people trailors were parked on the way from my house to the hotel. When I got there Matt wasn't there but the guy let me use the phone anyway. So while I was waiting for a ride to Kent and Mat's place, I heard a VERY familiar voice. Kinda like Mike Sullivan from Monsters Inc. So I sit and wait with great anticipation.. and John Goodman goes around a cornerand up some stairs no more than 15 feet away from me! I thought that was pretty cool. The moment John Goodman was out oif sight, I heard Matt, who had arrived to pick me up. Then I spent the afternoon With Kent and Matt. So that was one day.
Then I think that week, Daisy went into the hospital with Diabetes, so we went to go see them for the weekend. She apparently had a hellish month due to the onset of the diabetes. She couldn't eat AT ALL and she could not sate her thirst AT ALL. She's feeling a lot better now, but is very not cool with the needles. She's tough though, even if she doesn't think so. She'll kick its butt.
The day after we got back from Lake Charles and Daisy and Joe and the hospital, Mom went to the hospital because her heart was doing a funny little jig. It was mostly just scary, but apparently nothing to get upset about. The doctors say that she's fine. It wasn't a heart attack, and the last I heard they really weren't sure what caused it. Mom thinks it may have been some minor blockage. She's feeling well now, I think we're still waiting on some test results.
Now a moment of silence, please.
I just got back in touch with Austin after a long while. He didn't know that I didn't know that a friend of ours passed away. Some of you may have heard me talk about Chaz Crawford, but if any of you knew him (besides you Jeremy) I'd really be surprized. He was in high school band with me. He played the trumpet. He helped tie me to a chair right before Mr. Walker called me to his office. (I was a happy and willing participant, and Mr. Walker took it in stride.) He had a passion and talent for explosives, but was very safety minded when expressing that passion. Once I got to go with him, Austin, Karen and maybe Matt, (but I'm not sure) out into the woods and blow up an old refridgerator. It was so loud, and so fun. I heard he once (maybe more) jumped off the bridge on Pinhook in Lafayette. I also heard he climbed to the top of the flagpole at LHS and started screaming something about reaping his vengance on a white whale. He didn't go to prom because his date was struck with appendicitis that night, so he stayed at the hospital. He had so much energy to burn, but with all that wacked-outedness, he was still a nice guy. He was always nice to me. He didn't have to be. I bet I annoyed him sometimes. We were never close, but I always hoped I'd see him again someday. Chaz was in the military and spent some time in Iraq. He came home and then went back there to work for some security company. While he was there, Chaz was killed in a car bombing. At least it was big and loud. We'll miss you Chaz.

RIP Chaz. Glad you were able to tell Austin. I'm not sure how he took it. I'm sure it helped that it came from you.

The way I said it was a bit confusing. Austin told me. He said it happened in March. It did help coming from him.
I had it backwards then. I didn't realize YOU hadn't heard about Chaz. *comforts*
