Lafayette or Bust

So, Nathan got a new job. In Lafayette. It's finally happening, we're actually leaving Natchitoches. I'm hoping to be able to keep my job, and work for the Natchitoches Medicaid office from the Lafayette Medicaid office. Crazy I know, but it just might work. If it doesn't, do you know anyone hiring in Lafayette? We'll be moving in with my parents for a few years, probably 2 or 3, then we'll use the money we saved up from minimal rent and utilities to actually put a down payment on a house. My sister and her husband are still looking for a house, but until they find one, it will be my parents, Nathan, Ellie, and I and Kelley, Chris and then their little one when he's born. Thank God we're an unnaturally close family to begin with.

I'm really gonna miss it here. It was nice having our own place and our own space. This was Eleanor's first home. My family's first home. We have a great landlady. You can see the fireworks on Front Street from our couch in the living room. The porch is a great place to read. I'll never forget that summer wit the birds. Every night at 6:30 about 20 large flocks of birds would swoop into our backyard to roost for the night. I've never seen so many birds. We have good friends here too. Really good friends.

I am so excited to finally be back in Lafayette soon. Things stay open on Sunday. You don't have to drive an hour away to find anything you can't get at Wal Mart. Eleanor will grow up in the same town as her grandparents and cousin(s). I can actually finally feel like our own real home is just a couple of years away. Then our friends can come over. (:

We're going to have to make trips back up here. I'm hoping once a month. That would be nice.

Wish us luck!

Yay for new jobs and for moves. Seth and I are moving gradually over the next week, with the big final push next weekend. If y'all are moving a different weekend than we are, let us know and we will try to help!

My mom's a nursing supervisor @ UMC. She said that if the Medicaid thing doesn't work out & you want to stay with the state, you should apply for one of the social work positions @ the hospital. If you're interested, I can get you more info. Then, there's always OCS... :^P BTW, Yay! Can't wait to see y'all more than once every six months or so!

Good luck, my friend. :-) I feel for you, having to leave so many good friends behind. But, hugs are waiting from old ones who haven't seen you in a while. Good exchange? Nah. Better to have EVERY friend where you can reach out and call 'em across town. But, no matter where we are, we're always here for you all. Keep heads up, smile, and keep smiling some more.
